I love the eyes, very deep. Overall a really cool piece. My only crit would be it seems that the background is very 'flat' to the owl, like it lacks a little depth, maybe some more tones, and blue in the further bacgkround would counter-act this.

I've never understood the 'wise Owl' thing...I mean they're pretty goofy looking critters really aren't they...and you've caught that goofiness perfectly....

...I agree with CloudBurst about the background, the owl looks a little pasted on...but still a great character piece.

And you are right about the background, maybe it's a little flat, but I'll tell you a secret, My first thought was not to make any background at all, and then I said that maybe something looking like a shadow of a dark forest would just give to the picture more atmosphere. So I did this.
